HOW YOUR PRACTICE WILL CHANGE

  • Each day there will be a long asana practice incorporating meditation and pranayama, focused around the theme of the day.

  • In the afternoons, we will study the benefits and purpose of each yoga posture in depth, such as standing postures, inversions, backbends, twists, and forward bends.

  • Be able to read bodies and give safe effective hands-on adjustments.

  • Understand how to use the props, modify postures, and make yoga accessible for everyone.

Learn to apply anatomy to help understand the effects of the postures and how to sequence them together to create a safe and effective class.

  • Dive into philosophy, the subtle body, and develop a pranayama and restorative practice that students can incorporate into their lives.

  • By the end, you will be able to teach a yoga class, prepare an effective sequence, and gain confidence to teach and practice on your own.

There are many benefits gained from practicing yoga, but a teacher training transforms! You will be more connected to yourself and have gained a connection to like minded yogis who share the same path of transformation.

HOW YOU’LL FIND YOUR VOICE

  • This program will provide you with the tools and the knowledge to find your voice as a teacher and start teaching.

  • You will begin by learning to teach the basics as we explore styles from the Ashtanga and Iyengar Methods.

  • Teachers leading this training have a background in meditation, Ayurveda, pranayama, and different therapeutic studies that will be applied to this training.

  • This training aligns with the authentic traditions as instructed by Krishnamacharya and his students Sri K. Patthabi Jois and B.K.S. Iyengar.

  • We will explore the details of alignments blended in with the dynamic breath based movements learning to create a vinyasa flow class that is accessible to everyone!

CLASS STRUCTURE

  • Sessions will open up with a two-hour practice session focused on the theme of the weekend.

  • After each practice we will review the sequence and break down the theme or peak of the weekend. We will review the alignment, contraindications and how to modify each pose.

  • Each sequence will be written out and explained. You will leave the training with many different sequences to practice.

  • Study philosophy as perceived in The Yoga Sutras. Learn about the anatomy of the physical and subtle body.

  • The sessions will end with hands-on adjustments, practice teaching, restoratives, pranayama, sound baths, and meditations.
